Criminal charges may be pursued for ANIF fund abuses - Prosecutor  General

ArmInfo. Criminal proceedings, including potential prosecution, cannot be ruled out in the case of abuses in the ANIF fund. This statement was made by Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan in the National Assembly  on May 8.

According to her, the investigation is ongoing, and details cannot   be disclosed at this time.  Vardapetyan highlighted that  one episode  of the case involves about $2 million in abuse. This case, as the  Prosecutor General noted, is being handled by the Investigative  Committee, which is investigating the validity of high salaries and  bonuses for the Fund's employees, as well as possible violations in  dealings with several companies. Officials associated with the Fund's  activities are currently being interrogated.
