ArmInfo. All cases related to the actions of Azerbaijan are confidential, as stated by Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan at a session in the National Assembly on May 8, in response to a question from Taguhi Tovmasyan, NA deputy from the opposition faction "I Have Honor".
The deputy specifically inquired what the Prosecutor General's Office is doing to maintain a legal balance between Armenia and Azerbaijan. According to her, Baku has declared around 200 Armenians wanted, not counting over two dozen prisoners of war held in Azerbaijani prisons. She added that in every military incident, whether big or small, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia issues statements on the initiation of criminal proceedings related to provocations against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. She also asked about the outcomes of these cases, noting that only one citizen of Azerbaijan, who happens to be a football commentator, has been placed on the wanted list. In response, the Prosecutor General noted that, according to the current legislation, they are unable to disclose such information publicly or privately. "The only thing I can say is that we do not have cases that have been neglected. All mentioned cases are currently under consideration," Vardapetyan noted.
