ArmInfo. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia proposes to eliminate the age restriction for the police service. The draft law was approved by the RA Government at its regular session on May 8.
The initiative's authors emphasized the importance of professional training of community police personnel and replenishment as part of ongoing reforms. It is proposed that only individuals who have received professional vocational education in this specialty from an authorized educational institution can be eligible for the position of community police officer. As for current police officers, their appointment to the positions of middle, senior and main staff of the community police will be carried out exclusively after completing the appropriate training course in an educational institution of the authorized body.
