The preliminary investigation conducted by the RA Anti- Corruption Committee within the framework of the criminal case established that two chief inspectors of the regional center of the Vayots Dzor Food Safety Inspectorate (FSI) of the RA received bribes from various business entities and also committed official forgery.
According to the press service of the Anti-Corruption Committee, it was established that the said officials did not suspend the sale of meat in the conditions of the identified violations and did not seize it for further destruction, and did not draw up protocols on bringing violators to administrative responsibility, for which they received fuel and various amounts of money from business entities as bribes.
Two officials were charged with receiving a bribe as part of a group for illegal inaction and committing official forgery under Part 2 of Article 445 and Points 1 and 3 of Part 2 of Article 435 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (4 episodes).
Charges were also brought against four citizens who gave bribes to the said officials, the criminal prosecution against whom was terminated at the stage of preliminary investigation due to active repentance. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case against the officials of the IOBPP has been completed, the case materials with the indictment have been sent to the Anti-Corruption Court of the Republic of Armenia.
