ArmInfo.The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Armenia hosted a presentation of a book by Kolya Stepanyan, a participant in the 44-day war, titled "Where?" The book recounts the encirclement of Armenian servicemen by Azerbaijani forces and their miraculous rescue.
As ArmInfo was informed by the press service of the "Armenian House" initiative, the book was presented as part of the "Living History" event. Among those in attendance were the real -life heroes of Kolya Stepanyan's book: Arsen Ayvazyan, Arman Armaghanyan, David Sahakyan, Artur Harutyunyan and Ruslan Tumanyan - young people who, along with the author of the book, miraculously survived after being encircled for 70 days.
As Kolya Stepanyan noted, although his book includes elements of fiction and re-imagining of events, all the actions described are based on real experiences, reconsidered years after the war. In this regard, the director of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and founding member of the "Armenian House" initiative, Ashot Melkonyan, emphasized that this work is a living history reflecting the spirit of Armenian youth. According to him, each page contains a unique story.
Ruben Karapetyan, member of the "Armenian House" initiative group, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and Ambassador of Armenia, also shared his impressions. "You are living legends. Through your example and dedication to Armenian statehood, you have become heroes," Karapetyan said. The boys' parents were also present at the event. Karine, Ruslan Tumanyan's mother, shared her emotions during the event: "We gave them life, and they gave us life by coming back. Now, I feel stronger than ever."
