


ArmInfo. Drugs worth at least 200 million drams were found in the luggage of a 52-year-old man who arrived in Yerevan from Athens. The man has been detained, the press service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
As noted in the report, as a result of large-scale operational and investigative activities, the officers of the Anti Smuggling Department of the Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received information that various types of narcotics in especially large quantities were found in the luggage of a 52-year-old man who arrived in Yerevan from abroad. The information was forwarded to the State Revenue Committee for establishing appropriate control. As a result of the inspection at Zvartnots airport, the luggage of a 52-year-old man was subjected to customs inspection upon arrival of a flight from Athens. In total, more than 4,000 ecstasy tablets, 970 grams of cocaine, 885 subutex tablets containing buprenorphine, 5 grams of parts of the same tablet, as well as 15 capsules with various inscriptions were found.
The market value of the discovered drugs exceeds 200 million drams. A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia on the fact of the incident. The 52-year-old man has been detained and a preliminary investigation is underway, the report says.
