ArmInfo. The outstanding cellist, who over the years of his career has earned the nickname "the wandering cellist with a Russian soul" Mark Drobinsky will perform in Armenia.
The concert, which will take place on May 8, at 19:00, in the Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall will feature cello suites by Manuel de Falla, Igor Stravinsky, Mikhail Bronner and Antonio Santana. Pianist Astghik Ghukasyan will take part in the concert.
Drobinsky studied at the Moscow Conservatory in the class of the great Mstislav Rostropovich, whose direct influence shaped the depth and mastery of his performing art.
Since 1974, when Mark Drobinsky settled in Israel, his musical career has acquired a truly international scale. He has performed at the most prestigious venues in the world, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall in London, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Salle Pleyel in Paris, etc. Critics call Drobinsky the "master of the cello" and sometimes the "demon of the cello". He has collaborated with such conductors as Mstislav Rostropovich, Arnold Katz, Fuat Mansurov, Valery Gergiev, Saulius Sondeckis, Charles Dutoit, Maxim Shostakovich and others. Mark Drobinsky plays an Italian cello made by Carlo Antonio Testore (an Italian string instrument maker from the Testore family - ed.) in 1748.
