ArmInfo. A two-day international conference "France-Armenia. Historical and Cultural Dialogue" kicked off at the National Library of Armenia. The opening was attended by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, Deputy Minister Alfred Kocharyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Armenia Olivier Decottignies, and directors of the national libraries of Armenia and France, the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports reported.
In her welcoming speech, Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized that the relations between Armenia and France are exceptional in terms of historical, political and cultural ties. As Andreasyan emphasized, Armenian- French cooperation currently covers numerous areas of education, science, culture, economy and politics. Welcoming speeches were also delivered by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Armenia Olivier Decottignies and the Director of the National Library of Armenia, Anna Chulyan.
The goal of the conference is to comprehensively present the multi-layered historical and cultural relations between Armenia and France. The conference is attended by prominent researchers, scholars, and representatives from academic circles who will deliver reports and engage in discussions dedicated to the centuries-old relations between the two countries, literary and cultural ties, publishing heritage and other topics. The keynote speaker of the conference will be Gilles Pecoud, President of the National Library of France. A memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed within the framework of the conference. The document was signed by the Director of the National Library of Armenia Anna Chulyan and the President of the National Library of France, Gilles Pecoud.
