ArmInfo. Recently, high activity has been observed in Armenian- Georgian relations. This was stated by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan on April 29 at a joint meeting with Georgian President Mikhail Kavelashvili.
According to him, Armenian-Georgian relations are developing in the logic of strategic partnership, democratic aspirations, sovereignty of the two states, common Christian values and Yerevan and Tbilisi's visions for the future. Khachaturyan noted that mutual visits are carried out between the two countries at a high level, ties are developing and expanding at all levels of the public administration system. "The unprecedented development of relations over the past few years, strategic partnership has created a stable basis for further increasing efforts for mutually beneficial cooperation in order to deepen these relations," Khachaturyan said.
He added that the fact that both states recognize each other's territorial integrity is very important, which is a factor in the stability of peace and security in the South Caucasus. The President of the Republic of Armenia noted that relations with Georgia are developing both in bilateral and multilateral formats. He noted that today he discussed a wide range of bilateral issues with his Georgian counterpart, including issues related to cooperation in the political, economic, cultural, educational and sports spheres. The possibility of establishing stable peace and security in the region was also discussed.
"Armenia is consistent in promoting the peace agenda and will continue its involvement in the peace process. The text of the final agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been fully agreed upon and Yerevan is ready to sign it. We expect that we will be able to sign a comprehensive document with Azerbaijan," the President of the Republic of Armenia said, pointing to the importance of Tbilisi's mediation efforts aimed at establishing peace and security in the region.
