"Country to Live": Border demarcation only occurred in  areas where  Armenia ceded its territories

ArmInfo.  As expected, the process of demarcation of the border with Azerbaijan began and ended only in those areas where Armenia was supposed to cede its sovereign territories. Mesrop Arakelyan, leader of the "Country to Live" party  wrote on his Facebook page.

In this regard, the politician recalled that for a year now there has  been no progress in the issue of returning the sovereign territories  of Armenia that were captured as a result of the Azerbaijani  invasion. "It is obvious that the demarcation process was only a way  for Azerbaijan to "capture" territories in Tavush. On the rest of the  border, Azerbaijan gained dominant positions due to the military  invasion, and further continuation of the delimitation process will  only benefit Armenia," Arakelyan explained.

He believes that the main reason for freezing the delimitation  process is the lack of mediators, which has a been repeatedly stated.   Arakelyan recalled that initially the delimitation should have been  carried out under the auspices of the OSCE, based on the principles  and approaches outlined in the manual "Delimitation and Delimitation  of State Borders: Problems and Solutions." "The settlement of issues  with Azerbaijan without mediators is at a dead end, which creates new  risks on the path to achieving peace," the party leader concluded.
