ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan discussed the peace process between Yerevan and Baku during a meeting with the President of the Republic of Estonia, Alar Karis, in Tallinn.
As reported by the press service of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the President of Estonia welcomed the official visit of the Prime Minister of Armenia and expressed confidence that it would give a new impetus to the further development of multifaceted relations between the two countries. Karis noted the centuries-old ties between the Armenian and Estonian peoples, emphasizing that they are a good basis for enhancing bilateral cooperation.
Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized that Armenia highly values its relations with Estonia, based on historical traditions of mutual respect and friendship. He highlighted that the high-level mutual visits held in recent years demonstrate a shared commitment to strengthening the Armenia-Estonia agenda and raising the political dialogue to a new level. During the meeting, they discussed reforms implemented in Armenia in the areas of developing democratic institutions, public administration, economy and justice. Pashinyan stressed the significance of Estonia's support and the exchange of experiences in this direction.
The interlocutors also touched upon the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Nikol Pashinyan mentioned that Armenia highly appreciates Estonia's continued support for the efforts of the Armenian government to establish lasting peace and stability in the region, as well as Estonia's clear stance on protecting Armenia's territorial integrity. Alar Karis welcomed the agreement reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the peace treaty and expressed hope that it would be signed as soon as possible. The President of Estonia reaffirmed his country's support for the efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
Additionally, the parties exchanged views on the further development of Armenia-European Union relations and the expansion of cooperation.
