ArmInfo.Bilateral steps and discussions are progress to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at a meeting with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas.
According to Azerbaijani media, Aliyev made this statement during an exchange of views on ensuring lasting stability in the South Caucasus. Kallas, pointing to the successful and fruitful cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan in the energy sector, assured that Azerbaijan acts as a reliable partner in ensuring Europe's energy security. Speaking about transport links, she emphasized the importance of Azerbaijan's role in this context, as a very important regional state located in a significant geopolitical space. The interlocutors discussed gas supplies to Europe, prospects for cooperation in renewable energy, and the development of the Trans-Caspian Corridor. The meeting also included an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest.
