Armenian president to attend funeral of Pope Francis

ArmInfo.  Armenian President Vahagn  Khachaturyan will travel to the Vatican, where he will attend the  funeral of Pope Francis on April 26. This was reported by the press  service of the Armenian president.

Earlier, it became known that Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II  will also travel to the Vatican to attend Francis's funeral.

Pope Francis died on the morning of April 21 at the age of 88.  Francis became the head of the Roman Catholic Church in 2013 and  became the first pontiff from the New World - being from Argentina.  In recent months, the Pope suffered from pneumonia. His last public  appearance took place on April 20: he addressed the faithful with a  traditional Easter message.
