ArmInfo. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called the EU civil mission in Armenia's correction of its publication on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire an incredible abomination.
"Incredible cynicism and abomination," she wrote on her Telegram channel.
The co-founder of the Country for Life party, member of the political council Mesrop Arakelyan also responded to the incident, writing, in particular: "It turns out that not only Nikol Pashinyan is changing his messages about the Armenian Genocide, but also the EU observer mission in Armenia.
The term "Armenian Genocide" was changed to "Armenian massacre" 3 hours after publication, which is simply shameful.
The European Union recognized the Armenian Genocide in 1987, and the structures operating within the EU are obliged to be guided exclusively by taking into account this reality. Tomorrow I will contact the EU Delegation to Armenia for clarification," he wrote.
It is noteworthy that the head of the EU Delegation to Armenia Vasilis Maragos also made a rather vague post on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire. Having published a photo from his visit to the memorial complex, he only published the following hashtags: #Tsitsernakaberd #NeverForget #WeRemember #NeverAgain, also without using the term "genocide".
