ArmInfo. We are here to let the world know what the Turks did to the Armenians, and that 110 years later, nothing has changed. Argentine-Armenian businessman, former manager of HayPost CJSC and former Chairman of the Board of Converse Bank CJSC, Juan Pablo Gechidjian made these remarks to journalists at the Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex. He noted that he arrived in Armenia with a delegation represented by journalists from leading media outlets in Argentina and Brazil, as well as lawyers and attorneys who help Armenian population resolve issues with the Turks in these countries. Gechidjian emphasized that the purpose of their visit is to raise their voices, as nothing has changed even after 110 years later. Many countries that claim to support freedom and democracy remain silent when atrocities like genocide are committed. <The world only cares about business and money, which they prioritize over human life. This is why genocides continue to happen,> the businessman said.
Touching upon the Artsakh events, Juan-Pablo Gechidjian referred to what had happened as genocide. He noted that in Argentina and Brazil, everyone is aware that the Artsakh people were forced to leave the land they had inhabited for thousands of years, and that Azerbaijan is actively erasing traces of Armenian identity in those territories. The businessman mentioned that Argentine and Brazilian journalists also want to cover the trials of Armenian prisoners in Baku to expose the injustice being carried out by the Azerbaijani side. However, they understand that Azerbaijan lacks democracy, that it is an authoritarian state that will not allow the free dissemination of information. In conclusion, Gechidjian urged Armenians to be strong and united.
