ArmInfo. The Armenian Genocide committed by the Ottoman Empire at the beginning of 20th century is only a link in a chain that, unfortunately, has not yet been completed. Bernard Coulie, Armenian scholar and former Chair of the Armenian studies faculty at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium and, expressed this viewpoint in an interview with the state agency Armenpress in Brussels. He noted that the non-recognition of the Armenian Genocide by several countries, including Turkey, the state of Armenian monuments in Turkey, the elimination of the Armenian presence in Artsakh, the deportation of Armenians and the erasure of traces of their ancestral presence represent a continuation of the same logic that led to the events of 1915-1916.
<That is why April 24 is so important not only for Armenians, but also for all who stand for justice,> the Armenologist emphasized.
