Attempts of ruling regime to belittle historical significance of  Armenian Genocideunacceptable attack on Armenia and Armenian people -  Hayakve

ArmInfo.  The attempts of the ruling regime to belittle the historical significance of the Armenian Genocide are an unacceptable attack on Armenia and the Armenian people. This is stated in the statement of the national civil union Haykve on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey.

"Ayakve" noted that they honor the memory of all holy martyrs and  express their determination to continue the struggle for  comprehensive international recognition, condemnation of the Armenian  Genocide and the restoration of our national and human rights.

The statement says that the "Ayakve" initiative is categorically  against the attempts of the ruling regime of Armenia to abandon the  process of international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian  Genocide and considers this an unacceptable attack on the collective  security and national interests of Armenia and the Armenian people.

At the same time, expressed support for the latest  initiative to criminalize attempts to deny or question the Armenian  Genocide, being the first to initiate a similar legislative process  back in 2023. The union recalled that in 2023, the ruling force in  the National Assembly, ignoring the will of 58,000 citizens who  supported the bill submitted by , refused to even include  this issue in the agenda of the NA sessions.

Union will continue its consistent fight against all  attempts to belittle the historical significance of the Armenian  Genocide, which has already created real threats for its possible  repetition. Only comprehensive international recognition,  condemnation of the Armenian Genocide and compensation for the  enormous losses suffered by the Armenian people can make it possible  to prevent its possible repetition and establish stable peace in our  region>, - the statement reads.
