ArmInfo. On April 23, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received a delegation of Brazilian media representatives at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The group was accompanied by Mr. Vazgen Yakoubian, President of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) - Armenia.
As reported by the Chancellery of the Mother See of Etchmiadzin, during the meeting, Mr. Yakoubian highlighted that it has become a longstanding tradition for the AGBU Brazil office to organize annual visits of Brazilian media representatives to Armenia. This initiative aims to offer participants a firsthand experience of the Armenian people's history, spiritual and cultural heritage, and the country's present-day realities, enabling them to convey a deeper, more informed perspective to the wider Brazilian public.
His Holiness expressed his gratitude to the AGBU Brazil office for this initiative, underscoring the vital importance of voicing the truth and fostering awareness within international platforms regarding Armenia's security concerns, the occupation of Artsakh, the rightful claims of the Armenians of Artsakh, the plight of Armenian prisoners held in Baku, and the destruction of Armenia's spiritual and cultural heritage. The conversation also addressed a range of issues, including the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, the mission and efforts of the Armenian Apostolic Church in preserving national identity, its social support initiatives for the Armenians of Artsakh, and matters concerning inter-church relations.
