ArmInfo. It is high time to admit that discrimination against women and domestic violence are a reality in the Republic of Armenia, and these issues can no longer be ignored or concealed. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, made this statement at a government meeting on April 23 during the discussion of the project < Gender policy Implementation Strategy for 2025-2028 and the Action Plan>. <More specifically, there is violence against women and domestic violence>, the minister noted.
According to him, a stereotype has formed in society that such phenomena are only typical of the regions. <However, I would like to note that they also occur in the capital,> he emphasized. The Foreign Minister noted that in case of discrimination, additional measures can be used in public and economic life, through educational and psychological approaches. <Violence is usually unacceptable and unjustifiable,> he stated. Ararat Mirzoyan is convinced that the state must take decisive and systemic actions. He proposed developing a specific preventive educational toolkit, and establishing a rapid response system in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
