ArmInfo. .Armenia has allocated the second batch of humanitarian aid to the population of Syria in the amount of 49 million drams (about $125 thousand). The corresponding decision was made on April 23 at a meeting of the RA government.
The rationale for the draft decision states that the need for assistance is due to the ongoing events in Syria, which have deprived a large number of people of vital resources.
The assistance provided by the Armenian side will include essential food products and medicines aimed at meeting basic socio-economic needs.
In particular, the following redistribution is planned: 25.9 million drams for the purchase of medical and laboratory supplies, 23.1 million drams for the purchase of household supplies and food.
The amount will be allocated to the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from the government's reserve fund.
The Armenian government sent the first humanitarian aid to Syria on March 21. For this purpose, the Margara checkpoint on the Armenian-Turkish border was opened for 10 days. During this time, 4 trucks passed through the checkpoint.
