International recongnition of Armenian Genocide could prevent new  tragedies - MP

ArmInfo.The presence of the issue of international recognition of the Armenian Genocide on the foreign policy agenda and its promotion in the international arena is not only a matter of historical memory and dignity of Armenia, but also has a preventive, deterrent role in preventing new tragedies against the Armenian people. This was written on his Facebook page by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition faction With Honor. 

According to him, Turkey is a country that after the 44-day war, at  the highest level, proudly declared its "great role" in the war  against the Armenian people, threatening to destroy the Armenian  state if the Turkish-Azerbaijani demands are not met.

"The government of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has lost the  initiative and the correct positioning of the country at all levels.  It has plunged the country into an endless field of defeats. Thus,  the government's consistency in justifying the surrender of Artsakh  and denying the topic of the Genocide not only does not prevent  possible encroachments on our country, but also creates a favorable  field for actions against Armenia by countries that make territorial  claims against us," the MP noted.

Recall that on April 24, the Armenian people will celebrate the 110th  anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The country's authorities have  previously repeatedly stated that the issue of its international  recognition is not a priority in Armenia's foreign policy, which  causes a sharply negative reaction from the opposition, which  announced the introduction of a draft law on criminalizing the denial  of the Armenian Genocide.
