ArmInfo. On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, two new names will be added to the memorial wall, where the names of those who spoke out against the violence inflicted upon Armenians during the genocide are engraved. The names of genocide scholar Raphael Lemkin and French General Louis de Furney will be engraved alongside others. This was announced by Edita Gzoyan, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute (AGMI), at a press conference on April 21 in Yerevan.
"A large international scientific conference is planned for late May, with about 40 scientists participating to assess achievements in the field to date, as well as identify gaps and determine directions for future research," Gzoyan added. According to her, the educational program launched with Uruguay last year will continue this year. As part of this program, Gzoyan noted, a competition is held in public schools where high school students write essays on the Armenian Genocide. The winners are given the opportunity to visit Armenia with their teacher and present their essay at AGMI.
