ArmInfo. The Armenian Defense Ministry has refuted another disinformation from the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry about the shelling of its positions. "The statement from the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, alleging that on April 18 at approximately 22:35 p.m., the Armed Forces of Republic of Armenia opened fire on Azerbaijani combat positions in the southeastern section of the border, doesn't correspond to reality," the statement said. The ministry recalled that the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has proposed creating a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating ceasefire violations and related reports. However, Azerbaijan has yet to respond to this proposal.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia reaffirms that, in accordance with the position of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, it stands ready to investigate the facts supporting the statement issued by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, should they be provided to the Armenian side.
