Lawyer: Garik Galeyan, father of fallen soldier,  unlawfully detained

ArmInfo. Garik Galeyan, the father of soldier Mkhitar Galeyan, who lost his life in the 44-day war, is currently being held under unlawful house arrest, as reported by Vahan Hovhannisyan, a member of the " Five Human Rights Defenders Initiative ".

The lawyer noted that according to the verdict of the first instance,  issued by Judge Masis Melkonyan, Galeyan's house arrest  was  initially set for three months, which expired today, April 18, at  midnight.  Hovhannisyan also highlighted that during the appellate  court hearings  on April 17, the issue of Galeyan's preventive  measure was not considered. "Therefore, there is no longer a legal  justification for detaining client, as he is currently under house  arrest with the use of a special electronic bracelet," the lawyer  emphasized.
