ArmInfo. The second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, rejected the proposal made in 2005 by the then Prime Minister of Turkey, now President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to create a commission of historians to analyze the authenticity of the Armenian Genocide. This was stated by the head of the office of the second president of Armenia Bagrat Mikoyan, in response to a statement made by the MP from the ruling Civil Contract party, Arusyak Julhakyan.
The MP, speaking in parliament, stated that Kocharyan had allegedly agreed to the formation of a commission of historians, which was to determine "whether or not there was an Armenian Genocide." Mikoyan stressed that both Erdogan's letter proposing the commission and Kocharyan's rejection of this proposal, are publicly available online. "It can be assumed that either Arusyak Julhakyan, at the age of 42, is still in the first grade, or lacks the ability to properly perceive the text she reads. Otherwise I cannot explain her interpretation of the documents available on the Web. Either she, like her boss, is an uncontrollable liar, or she is inspired by Erdogan's book, which Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held in her hands," Robert Kocharyan's office said in response to Yerevan.Today's request.
