ArmInfo. MEPs Nicolas Bey and Nicolas Metzdorf from New Caledonia have expressed their support for the efforts to protect the rights of the forcibly displaced population of Artsakh at a meeting with members of the Artsakh Rights Council on Freedom Square.
As reported by the Council's press service, during the discussion, the MEPs emphasized the importance of a fair and peaceful resolution to the conflict, highlighting the necessity of ensuring the rights of the people of Artsakh. Bey and Metzdorf also stressed the significance of holding Azerbaijan accountable for its international crimes, adding that the current lack of accountability could lead to new attacks, including against France. The members of the Artsakh Rights Council presented the urgent issues faced by the people of Artsakh people and the efforts being made to safeguard their rights. At the end of the meeting, the MEPs reaffirmed their support for the Armenian people and expressed their willingness to expand this support based on the outcomes of their visit.
