RA CC confirms constitutionality of Law on Confiscation of Property  of Illegal Origin

ArmInfo. The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia has recognized the provisions of the law "On Confiscation of Property of Illegal Origin" as complying with the requirements of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia. This is stated in the statement of the Court.

It emphasizes that the decision of the Constitutional Court was made  the day before on the basis of an appeal by at least one fifth of the  total number of deputies of the National Assembly of Armenia.   (opposition MPs - ed.). It emphasizes that, according to the law "On  Confiscation of Property of Illegal Origin", property acquired after  the relevant official assumed office and related to the commission of  the relevant crime is subject to confiscation.

The decision of the Constitutional Court is final and comes into  force from the moment of publication.
