ArmInfo. The Karabakh movement will not continue in Armenia, as stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in a conversation with reporters on April 16, while commenting on reporter's question regarding the statements by the opposition and the third President Serzh Sargsyan that the Karabakh page is not closed, and it should be returned to the political agenda.
<I have responded to these statements even before they were made, and I have said that the Karabakh movement will not continue in Armenia,> Pashinyan added. He also commented on Serzh Sargsyan's statement that power in the republic had been seized. <Let Serzh Sargsyan see what he was saying at that time,> concluded the head of the Government.
Touching upon the delimitation process and concerns that it may not reach the areas occupied by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Pashinyan said that he did not agree that the process had reached a dead end. He assured that the Armenian authorities would continue to move forward consistently in this direction.
<We have submitted written proposals to Azerbaijan regarding the logic and specific direction of continuing the process. We are now waiting for their response,> he noted. The proposals concern both the logic of delimitation and the specific areas where it is proposed to continue the work. According to the preliminary agreement, the parties plan to move from north to south - from the point of contact of the borders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia towards the Iranian border. The Armenian side has indicated at which section the next stage could begin. Armenia also has not receive a response from Azerbaijan to the initiative to unblock communications. The Prime Minister added that any project has certain nuances and subtleties during implementation, and they need to be worked on.
<Within the framework of the <Crossroads of Peace> project, we have recorded that we are ready to simplify the procedures while maintaining 4 primary principles: territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, reciprocity. Now, at this stage, we propose opening a railway connection, in particular, along the Horadiz-Yeraskh line, and carrying out cargo transportation from Azerbaijan to Azerbaijan through the territory of Armenia, and from Armenia to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan>, Pashinyan said.
He noted that Baku accuses Yerevan of not offering solutions, which is why they are ready to use the Iranian route. <This means that the Iranian route and conditions are acceptable to them. To make everything clear in this context, we say that we are ready to provide the same conditions under which Azerbaijan passes through the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the event of passing through the territory of the Republic of Armenia. Thus, we demonstrate that the idea that the conditions we propose may be unacceptable for Azerbaijan does not correspond to reality. If the same condition is acceptable for transit through the territory of Iran, why should it be unacceptable for transit through the territory of Armenia?> the Prime Minister asked. According to him, he does not know what Baku's statements about the need for <unimpeded passage> mean. <And I don't know what they mean by this. We are talking about our principles, and within the framework of these principles, we are willing to simplify certain procedures (transit procedures),> Nikol Pashinyan pointed out.
