ArmInfo. The Armenian authorities want to make changes to the procedure for certification of teachers, the draft is already in circulation. This was stated on November 16 in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan.
According to her, changes are being made, in particular, to the certification procedure itself, which will further increase the efficiency of the system.
The Minister recalled that the voluntary certification system for teachers was launched in pilot mode in 2021, after which the project was launched in full mode in 2023. Last year, certification was organized in electronic form, which continues successfully today, which allows avoiding paperwork and unnecessary red tape. Andreasyan emphasized that when applying the innovation, the existing problems in the electronic system were analyzed, which will facilitate the participation of teachers in the certification process, for whom tests have become more accessible so that teachers can better prepare for exams. The Minister also noted that, according to the current situation, 20% of all teachers in Armenian schools have passed certification, and their salaries have been significantly increased. Today, there are already teachers whose salaries are close to 595 thousand drams. The salary calculation system itself has also improved, which will allow more teachers to be involved in the certification system.
