NA Speaker: Victory Day is  a holiday for the Armenian people as well

ArmInfo.  Victory Day, celebrated on May 9, is also a day of victory for the Armenian people, as stated by NA Chairman Alen Simonyan in an interview with journalists on April 15, while responding to a question about whether  RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan would take part in the celebrations  in Moscow, especially in light of the European Union's call on EU  candidate countries not to participate in these events.  As the  speaker noted, the Armenian people lost 300,000 people during World  War II, not to mention the participation of Armenians in resistance  movements. The speaker added that some may not like Armenia's stance,  but the country has its own interests in this regard. When asked  about Armenia's absence from such events last year, the NA Chairman  noted that it was inconvenient to participate at that time.  Furthermore, this year marks a jubilee - the 80th anniversary of the  Great Victory.
