Armenia`s third president reveals forces were behind `velvet  revolution`

ArmInfo.  In 2018, the Armenian people lost to those forces in the South Caucasus that had their own calculations and plans and sought to implement them at all costs. This was stated by the third president of Armenia, the chairman of the Republican Party Serzh Sargsyan, at the jubilee meeting of the RPA on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the founding of this  political force.

The third president of Armenia noted that some are now discussing his  words, said several years ago, about the seizure of power in 2018,  that he lost not to those who are in power today, but to much larger  forces.  According to him, these people still cannot understand who  he lost to.

"I must note with regret that after everything that is happening in  our country before our eyes, and the catastrophe that happened to  Artsakh, their eyes and minds have still not opened to finally  realize that not only I and our political team lost in this struggle,  but ultimately we as a nation lost.

We lost to those forces in our region that had their own calculations  and plans and were trying to implement them at any cost. Those who  were not interested in the red line that we drew in terms of our  national interests, those whose ideas about Armenia and Artsakh did  not correspond to our ideas. In Armenia, they found a bunch of  traitors and scoundrels who do not know the red lines and are ready  to do anything for power and money. They have clouded the minds of  many people with populism, and now they will stop at nothing until  they fulfill all the demands of their masters.

No matter how undeniable it is that we are not the only country where  internal evil spirits, by the will of their masters, bring great  disasters to their own state and people, this is still not a  consolation, not to mention salvation from a new possible  catastrophe, if this pernicious evil spirit is not removed from  power," the third president of Armenia continued.

Touching on the campaign that has been launched against the RPA  today, Sargsyan noted that he is well aware of his mistakes and the  mistakes of his team, calling on not to shift the blame for other  people's unjustified calculations, vain hopes, primitive political  attitudes and human delusions to the RPA.

He added that the Republican Party of Armenia is adamant in its goal  of eliminating the authorities, which leads to the destruction of the  Armenian state. "We have repeatedly emphasized that we will support  with all our capabilities any initiative pursuing the same goal, and  we are still committed to this decision: The most shameful defeats of  our people throughout its history have been the result of division,  "self-deception" and betrayal. Not to see this, not to learn a lesson  from this, to provoke and to go down this destructive path again  means to be blind-minded. This is the path of national  self-destruction," Sargsyan said, once again emphasizing that the  main goal of the RPA today is to get rid of the capitulated  authorities.

At the same time, he expressed the conviction that the people who  witnessed the genocide cannot deny it, cannot be indifferent to the  injustice committed against the family of the soldier who gave his  life for it, but what is most terrible is to gloat and even rejoice  at the suffering of their compatriots who are subjected to inhuman  persecution in enemy prisons, cannot consider Artsakh non-Armenian,  cannot have even one common denominator with those who offer a  diabolical anti-Armenian program and false ideology.
