ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has considered creating a jury trial in Armenia. The idea could be included in the new version of the country's Constitution, he announced on April 15 in parliament during a discussion of the report on the implementation of the RA government program for 2024.
According to Pashinyan, there is a feeling in Armenian society that legality and justice in the republic are administered by people alien to the people. This feeling is exacerbated by expectations of the return of stolen property to the state.
The situation can be resolved and existing doubts dispelled, he noted, by introducing a jury trial.
Noting that in a small country where everyone knows each other, family ties are very strong, the prime minister admitted that this system may not work. But even today there are problems in the current judicial and law enforcement systems, and by introducing the institute of sworn attorneys in the courts of the republic, justice itself will not be cut off from the people. , - Nikol Pashinyan said.
