ArmInfo. The Internal Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia is conducting an internal investigation into the use of force by Patrol Service officers against a car driver who did not comply with the demands of the police. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Armen Mkrtchyan at a meeting of the RA National Assembly Committee on Defense and Security on April 14.
A video has been circulating in the Armenian segment of social networks since April 3, in which patrol officers use force to pull a driver out of a car and subject him to detention. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia commented on the incident. "In connection with the video with the participation of patrol officers, which appeared on social networks, we inform you that when the Police officers were ensuring the passage of a motorcade as part of state protocol events, one of the drivers used obscene language. He was subjected to detention to the Central Department of the Municipal Police. After explanations, he was released," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in its explanation.
According to the Deputy Minister, a report on an administrative offence was drawn up against this driver for failure to comply with the lawful demands of the Police.
