ArmInfo. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia urges citizens to be vigilant on social media.
The ministry's statement notes that various false statements posted on social networks on behalf of different banks in the country have recently become widespread. These statements are a means of obtaining clients' banking information, issuing loans in their name, and stealing money. In a preventive video, the Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed false information and fraudulent schemes being spread on behalf of an Armenian bank. Similar criminal mechanisms associated with other banks will be considered in the future to prevent their dissemination.
"Dear citizens, do not share your personal information and passwords with anyone, do not click on unfamiliar links, do not trust suspicious calls and pages on social networks. If you receive a suspicious call, email or advertisement from a bank, contact their call center. If you have been scammed, contact the police," the message says.
