Yerevan and Naples are set to sign a cooperation and friendship agreement soon, as announced during a meeting between Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan and Italian Ambassador to Armenia Alessandro Ferranti. As reported by the press service of the Mayor's Office, the parties discussed the agenda of bilateral relations and emphasized the significance of signing of a memorandum of understanding between Yerevan and Rome in 2024. Avinyan noted that this memorandum has created a platform for cooperation between the parties in urban management.
In turn, Ambassador Alessandro Ferranti emphasized the high potential for cooperation between Armenia and Italy in the tourism sector. The diplomat said that he would facilitate the implementation of new joint projects within his authority. Note that according to the RA Statistical Committee, 15,968 tourists from Italy visited Armenia in 2024, marking a 16.4% increase from the previous year.
