ArmInfo. With its hypocritical statement, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) helps Azerbaijan avoid responsibility and undermines the country's efforts to restore justice. This is how the Pan-Armenian Diplomatic Council responded to the statement of the Armenian MFA on the Artsakh issue.
The Pan-Armenian Diplomatic Council noted that the Armenian authorities, including the Foreign Ministry, have once again demonstrated their true political image, by trying to shift responsibility for their failures and inaction in resolving the Artsakh issue to others. In this context, the Pan-Armenian Council of Diplomats mentioned the statement made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the Armenian Parliament a few months prior this meeting regarding "a slight lowering of the bar on the issue of Artsakh's status", noting that it can now be stated with certainty what it actually meant and the catastrophic consequences it foreshadowed for the people of Artsakh.
Referring to the accusations of failed meetings between representatives of Azerbaijan and Artsakh in third countries, the Council emphasized that, based on the information they have, the cancellation of this meeting was due to completely different circumstances. The Council called on those responsible to finally speak out on this issue. Additionally, the Council expressed confusion over the fact that the Armenian Foreign Ministry did not mention another meeting that was scheduled a few days after the cancellation of the initial one. Representatives from Artsakh were ready to attend this meeting, but the Azerbaijani side refused to participate.
The statement also highlights the fact that Azerbaijan has committed genocidal acts in Artsakh through blockade and ethnic cleansing, which has been recorded by international structures and several states, including the Armenian Foreign Ministry. In this regard, the Council expressed confusion over the Ministry's stance, which has been at the forefront of the international struggle to prevent and punish the crime of genocide over the past decades, and now hypocritically stating that "after the forced displacement of the Armenians of Artsakh... the issue was removed from the agenda of the settlement of interstate relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan." As noted in the statement, the Armenian Foreign Ministry is thereby helping Azerbaijan avoid responsibility and effectively nullifies the future struggle of Armenia and international partners to restore justice. "The Pan-Armenian Diplomatic Council strongly condemns speculation on the topic of Artsakh, manipulative statements based on lies and falsifications, which are consonant with the fabricated charges brought against the military-political leadership of Artsakh and prisoners of war in the Baku court. It considers it necessary to warn once again that the anti-national and unfounded actions of the Armenian authorities to finally close the Artsakh issue have already created a serious threat to the Republic of Armenia," the Council concluded.
