ArmInfo. Vilen Gabrielyan, a member of the National Assembly of Armenia from the ruling Civil Contract faction, who on April 1 announced his resignation, stated in his post that from now on he will be fully engaged in organizing the work of the Pan-Armenian Union Gardman Shirvan Nakhijevan.
During this time, we have done a lot of work related to the activities of the Union, bringing our voice to various international platforms, but at the same time I must state that the status of a deputy helped to some extent in this matter, but from the point of view of fulfilling other duties of a deputy, it did not always give me the opportunity to fully engage in the full-fledged work of the Union.
Accordingly, I publicly declare that from now on I will fully engage in the organization of the work of the Union, which will imply the completion of the structural formation of the apparatus, territorial divisions and foreign branches of the Pan-Armenian Union .
Our goals will be to achieve: - Adoption of a clear state policy regarding the demands and rights of persons forcibly displaced from Azerbaijan in 1988-1992, - Strengthening ties with the international community, - Restoration by Azerbaijan of all rights of more than 500,000 Armenian refugees from the territory of Azerbaijan in 1988-1992, including the right to return.
In this critical issue, we will need the support not only of those who were forcibly displaced from Azerbaijan itself, but also of every Armenian as a whole, regardless of whether this support is psychological, physical, professional, scientific or financial.
We are open to cooperation with every organization and individual defending the rights of refugees, which has been our goal from the very beginning - to serve as a single platform for broad consolidation.
Be vigilant, cool-headed, balanced, strong and steadfast>, Gabrielyan wrote.
In Gyumri, Vilen Gabrielyan, while intoxicated, insulted a journalist, and the next day published a post on Facebook with an apology and an announcement of his resignation from the parliamentary mandate.
