Catholicos of All Armenians congratulates Armenian women 

ArmInfo. Today, April 7, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the Annunciation Day, and the Armenian people celebrate Motherhood and Beauty Day.

In his address, Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II,  congratulating women and girls, recalled the Holy Scriptures,  according to which the good news of the coming of the Savior was  brought to the peoples of the world. "With her image of humility,  obedience and fidelity to God, the Holy Mother of God served as a  good example for Armenian women of all times. On this day, our  churches bless women awaiting the joy of motherhood with a prayer  that our nation may be strengthened by the birth of new children,  that our children, under the blessing of God and the care of their  parents, may grow up in love for their homeland and be educated on  the values of national identity. May the Holy Mother of God continue  to be an inspiration for our mothers and sisters, a source of hope in  God and all the virtues with which they can bring their care and  devotion to our church, national and patriotic life. We ask for the  intercession of the Holy Mother of God before the Only Begotten Son,  so that the Lord, under the protection of His Holy Right Hand,  preserves and protects our homeland and all its people in peace,  tranquility and prosperity, blesses all efforts for the good of the  country and the nation," the appeal says. April 7 is Mother and Beauty Day in Armenia and all Armenian  communities around the world. The origins of this holiday go back to  the pan-Christian tradition and the biblical legend of the Good News.  By order of the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, on this  holiday, a special prayer service is held in all churches of the  country and in the Armenian Diaspora and expectant mothers are  blessed. On Motherhood and Beauty Day, flower fairs and various  sweets are held, and in the evening of the holiday, bright concerts  and exhibitions are held on the main square of Yerevan, which delight  the city's residents and guests.
