On April 4, 2025, Armenia was elected to the Executive Board of the Executive Boards of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Programme Implementation Office (UNOPS) for the term 2026-2028, as reported by the Permanent Mission of Armenia to the UN.
"Armenia will put its utmost effort to support and contribute to the work of the Executive Board of the UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS for the benefit of the implementation of 2030 Agenda, and inclusive, effective and sustainable development in the programme countries in its three dimensions-social, economic and environmental. The Executive Board of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS is responsible for overseeing and supporting the activities of these organizations. It consists of 36 Member States and ensures that these agencies remain responsive to the evolving needs of programme countries while providing strategic direction and supervision," the statement of the Permanent Mission says.
