ArmInfo. The Court of Appeal has ordered the Anti-Corruption Court to initiate criminal proceedings against the Minister of Finance of Armenia Vahe Hovhannisyan. This information was shared by the Rector of the Academy of Advocates, Ara Zohrabyan, on his Facebook page.
He, in particular, noted: "As you may recall, on December 4, 2024, a group of lawyers and I filed an application with the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia requesting the initiation of criminal proceedings against the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia, Vahe Hovhannisyan, for actions involving a corruption risk. On December 25, 2024, the investigator from the Anti-Corruption Committee B. Chilingaryan, declined to start criminal proceedings. Despite subsequent complaints to the Prosecutor General's Office and then to the RA Anti-Corruption Court, the decisions of 07.01.2025 and 27.02.2025, rejected our appeals. Today, on April 3, 2025, the RA Anti-Corruption Court of Appeal (Judge Karen Amiryan) overturned the decision of the Anti-Corruption Court from 27.02.2025 and issued a new judicial order requiring the initiation of criminal proceedings against a public participant in the case".
