ArmInfo. On April 3, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan discussed regional issues with Magdalena Grono, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia.
As reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting, the parties discussed efforts to establish sustainable peace in the South Caucasus. Touching on the process of normalizing relations with Azerbaijan, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of signing the peace treaty and establishing agreed upon interstate relations as part of the process of normalizing relations. He also mentioned the issue of unblocking regional communications, referring to specific proposals made by the Republic of Armenia in line with the principles of international law.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Magdalena Grono discussed humanitarian issues, including the fate of missing persons and the return of Armenian prisoners of war and detained civilians. The interlocutors also talked about steps being taken to enhance the partnership between Armenia and the EU, maximizing the use of existing instruments.
