ArmInfo. Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanovic visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial Tsitsernakaberd. He laid a wreath at the memorial and flowers at the eternal flame, honoring the memory of the holy martyrs with a minute of silence.
As reported by the press service of the Genocide Museum-Institute, the director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, Edita Gzoyan, shared the history of the creation of the memorial complex with the guests. She also touched upon the history of the three khachkars erected on the territory of Tsitsernakaberd in memory of the Armenians who were victims of the massacres organized by the Azerbaijani government in Sumgait, Kirovabad (Gandzak) and Baku at the end of the last century. She also told the stories of five freedom fighters buried in front of the Memorial Wall during the Artsakh War, emphasizing the connection between these events and the Armenian Genocide. Ivanovic also visited the Armenian Genocide Museum, where he got acquainted with the permanent and temporary exhibitions. He left an entry in the Book of Honorary Guests. Montenegro has not officially recognized the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
