ArmInfo. The consortium of French companies IDEMIA Identity Security France and A.C.I. Technology S.a.r.l. will be engaged in the production of biometric passports for Armenian citizens. This became known following the results of the final meeting of the tender committee, which was chaired by the RA Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan.
According to the press service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, the financial proposals of two consortiums were discussed at the committee meeting, the best of which was the proposal of the French side, which scored 94.97 points. The consortium of German companies AUGENTIC GmbH and Imprensa Nacional - Casa da Moeda, S.A. received 79.24 points.
Thus, the consortium of IDEMIA Identity Security France and A.C.I. Technology S.a.r.l., recognized as the winner of the tender, will be engaged in the production of biometric passports and the creation of passport infrastructure. Now the stage of negotiations will begin with him in order to determine the procedure and conditions for concluding the contract. According to the planned schedule, the production of biometric passports and identification cards will begin in Armenia in the second half of 2026. The new infrastructure for issuing biometric documents, including standardization of the building, creation of offices, server facilities, printing equipment, software solutions, will be implemented by the winner of the tender within the next year.
