ArmInfo. The Council for the Protection of the Rights of Artsakh People has urged the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia to acknowledge the inability to provide housing for the people of Artsakh. They also called for assistance in appealing to international and donor organizations to attract the necessary resources to address this issue. This call was made on March 31 during a rally outside the Ministry of Social Affairs of Armenia. The founder of the Artsakh Mothers Support Center and member of the Council for the Protection of the Rights of Artsakh People, Mariam Abrahamyan, voiced this plea.
In this vein, she requested at least one representative from the Ministry of Social Affairs of Armenia to come down and address the numerous questions facing the people of Artsakh. Abrahamyan explained despite the Ministry's claims that the program is based on the needs of the people of Artsakh, those who are its direct beneficiaries are not consulted.
Furthermore, Abrahamyan assured that even the most active public organizations in the communities are not aware of the Ministry's actions in this regard. The Council member expressed the conviction that the program is either discussed with individuals who are unaware of the issues facing the people of Artsakh, or with those who silently agree with everything proposed by the Ministry. "The reality is that the programs do not meet the needs of the forcibly displaced population of Artsakh. There is no adequate assessment of the needs of the people of Artsakh. Otherwise, the Artsakh employment program would not have failed." Abrahamyan concluded.
