


ArmInfo. According to preliminary data from the Central Electoral Commission, the ruling Civil Contract party headed by Sarik Minasyan is in the lead in the elections to the Gyumri Council of Elders held yesterday, receiving 14 seats in the Council.
The Communist Party headed by Vardan Ghukasyan is in second place, with 8 seats in the Council of Elders, the Our City bloc with Martun Grigoryan at the top of the list is in third (6 seats), the My Powerful Community party (3 seats) with Ruben Mkhitaryan at the top of the list is in fourth place, and the Mother Armenia bloc (number 1 on the list Karen Simonyan) is in fourth place - 2 seats.
On March 30, elections to the Council of Elders were held in Gyumri, which is to elect the mayor of the second largest and most important city in Armenia. The passing score for participation in the Council of Elders was set at 4% for parties and 5% for blocs. Voter turnout was 44.61%. 111,236 voters had the right to vote in Gyumri.
