ArmInfo. Russia and Armenia have historically had good relations, as stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a weekly briefing on March 27.
In response to a question about signs of warming relations between Moscow and Yerevan, given that earlier the Armenian press circulated information that the Prime Minister of Armenia has instructed the country's departments to improve relations with Russian partners, Zakharova called for talking about specific steps rather than signs, so that the conversation is substantive, and not at the level of fluids. "What emotions are you talking about? We have had excellent relations with Armenia throughout our lives. It simply could not be otherwise given the historical context. We are neighboring countries. We have humanitarian contacts that are not artificial, but natural. It is our destiny to maintain good relations," the diplomat added.
At the same time, she acknowledged that there will inevitably be some who are not happy about this, but Moscow's stance is aimed at the full-scale development of relations with Armenia and its people.
