ArmInfo. On March 26, the Chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration Arman Yeghoyan met with the representatives from the Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies Hugo von Essen and Jakob Hedenskog.
Arman Yeghoyan noted that Sweden is an important partner for Armenia, especially within the framework of the RA-EU cooperation. The Committee Chair highly appreciated the role of Sweden in the launch of the dialogue on the visa liberalisation of the European Union for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
The representatives of the Centre were mainly interested in the RA-EU relations and the regional developments.
Speaking about the enhancing interaction with the European Union, Arman Yeghoyan informed that the National Assembly in the second reading debated and adopted the civil initiative on launching the accession process of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union. The Committee Chair also talked about the importance of the application of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.
The sides also discussed issues regarding the development of the Armenian-Swedish collaboration in different spheres.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to our country Patrik Svensson also attended the meeting.
