ArmInfo. The Armenian authorities will not be implementing short-term assistance programs for internally displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated by the RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan during the government hour in the National Assembly on March 26.
According to him, assistance programs are categorized into short-term, medium-term and long-term initiatives. Short-term aid projects, providing 40+10 thousand drams assistance to able-bodied individuals, will be suspended from April 1. Exception will be made for children under 18, people over 63, disabled people in groups 1 and 2, as well as families who have lost their breadwinner. However, as the minister noted, for this category of citizens the amount of assistance will be reduced to 40 thousand drams, and from July to December of this year - to 30 thousand drams. Mkrtchyan explained that the government's aim is to encourage employment among the Karabakh people. He also said that families of four are offered housing purchase certificates worth up to 20 million drams in 400 communities across the country.
