ArmInfo. On March, Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Hungary, Ararat Mirzoyan and Peter Szijjarto, had a telephone conversation to discuss bilateral agenda issues between Armenia and Hungary.
As reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, the interlocutors emphasized the active political dialogue between the two countries, with one significant development being the decision to open resident embassies in Yerevan and Budapest. The Ministers also discussed the upcoming programs. In addition to the political dialogue, the interlocutors stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation, particularly in the economic sector. Mirzoyan expressed satisfaction with the ratification of the Agreement on Economic Cooperation between Armenia and Hungary, emphasizing the need to make the most of the opportunities it offers.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Hungary discussed the ongoing efforts to strengthen the Armenia- EU partnership, including through more effective use of existing instruments. Regional issues were also addressed during the call. The Armenian Foreign Minister highly appreciated the supporting stance taken by Szijjarto regarding the completion of the draft peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku. Mirzoyan noted that the Armenian side considers the signing of the agreement to be a logical continuation of this historical milestone, for which he suggested to the Azerbaijani side to hold consultations regarding its timing and venue.
