NSS Head on  removing Russian guards from Armenian-Turkish border: no decision at the moment

ArmInfo. On March 21, Director of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia Armen Abazyan commented on the possibility of removing Russian border guards from the Armenian-Turkish border in a conversation with journalists in National Assembly.

He mentioned that since mid-2024, only Armenian border guards have been serving at the Zvartnots airport. The same  is also being carried out at the Agarak  checkpoint on the border with Iran. Since March 1 of this year, border control at the Margara checkpoint on the border  with Turkey has also been completely transferred to the Armenian side.  "There is no specific decision at the moment," Abazyan noted, answering a question about the possible continuation of the process.
